The Liturgical Commission Ministries concentrate on the various details of making the Mass and Sacraments available to the congregation. Individual ministries are also dedicated to creating a rich and meaningful liturgical experience for parishioners and visitors.

Adult Altar Servers. Adult men and women offer assistance to the Priest during funeral Masses. Contact Bob Habermehl at 716-633-8397.

Altar Servers. Youth in grades 4 and up assist the Priest during Sunday Mass and other liturgical services. Contact David Will at 716-632-8838.

Eucharistic Adoration. Eucharistic Adoration is an informal ministry that offers prayer and adoration before the Blessed Sacrament every Thursday evening from 8 to 9 PM and on First Fridays from 9:30 AM until 3:30 PM. Contact Don and Barb Gill at 716-634-1048 regarding Thursday evening adoration. 

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. More commonly known as Eucharistic Ministers, this ministry is dedicated to assisting with the distribution of the Eucharist at Mass and to the sick and homebound. Contact Kathy Fonte for training or more information at 716-632-8838, ext. 9.

Hospitality Ministers. Volunteers welcome attendees upon arrival at Mass, assist with the seating of the congregation and coordinate the taking up of the offering during Mass. Contact Henry Brodowski at 716-633-1063.

Lectors. Adult volunteers serving as lectors are responsible for proclaiming the scriptures at Mass, Prayers of the Faithful, along with any parish announcements. Contact Gary Starck at 716-634-8595.

Linens Committee. Laundering of small linens needed for Mass is provided through this ministry. Contact Julie Wharam at 716-759-6157.

Liturgical Planning Committee. This committee plans the liturgy and environment for each liturgical feast and season. Contact Fr. John Leising at 716-632-8838, ext. 308.

Music Ministry. Nativity has a full range of musical ministries serving the weekend liturgies. They range from organist and cantor to contemporary ensemble to full choir. There is a Youth Choir, accompanied by guitar, which sings once a month. For special liturgies the Youth Choir and the Adult Choir join forces. Presiders for Communion Services. Ministry that provides support for the parish liturgical services during the absence of the priest. Contact Don Ehrenreich at 716-632-8838, ext. 4.

Sunday Liturgy of the Word for Children. Available during the 9:30 Mass from September through May, this ministry strives to make the Mass and readings understandable for children. The children meet for age-appropriate instruction during the Liturgy of the Word, and then rejoin their parents to complete the celebration of the liturgy. Contact Jennifer Bandelian at 716-632-8838.
